The AP has journalists in nearly 100 countries and all 50 U.S. states.I lead an exceptionally talented global team of photojournalists at the AP as they play a critical role in earning public trust with eyewitness journalism and serving readers and communities with accurate, fact-based, nonpartisan reporting. I’m passionate about developing and mentoring a diverse range of visual journalists in order to accurately reflect the societies we cover. I have a master’s degree in journalism, science and climate from Columbia University; studied international politics at Penn State; and attended the Graduate School of Journalism at City University, New York (CUNY), where I participated in a program in news innovation and leadership. I was also part of CUNY’s inaugural AI Journalism Lab to design newsroom AI tools.While at Reuters, I led the news agency’s photography in Europe, heading a team of 190 staff and freelance photographers in 50 countries. Before that, I photographed stories that included eight Olympic Games; presidential elections in Afghanistan; Hong Kong democracy protests; California wildfires and drought; U.S. political campaigns and protests; World Cup soccer; and breaking news and documentary stories all over the Americas. I was featured in an International Olympic Committee Rio 2016 video: 'One Shot. Photographing the Olympic Games.'
