This role saw me work with over 86% of non-fee paying schools and colleges across the Bristol region to deliver impartial careers education and guidance aimed at tackling consistently low HE Participation. The UWE Pre-HE Team were selected as winners of the Career Development Institute’s Higher Education Widening Participation Pre-Entry Guidance Award in March 2017. Designed and delivered engaging, innovative workshops to a diverse range of students in groups of fifteen to two hundred students on a range of topics including Choosing Courses, Personal Statements and Why Go to University. Delivered impartial 1:1 careers advice and guidance appointments regarding career choice and higher education options, supporting students to make informed decisions about their post-18 options. In addition, delivered careers coaching appointments for UWE students and graduates, supporting them to develop their employability and empowering them to manage their career development.
