Head of Food Service.Contracted to report directly to the Commercial Director at Winterbotham Darby. Recruited for my commercial experience, strategic thinking, ability to empathise with customer needs and to ultimately implement change.I played a key role in redefining and establishing the strategic Business Plan for WBD in the Food Service Category. I completed a comprehensive review of their existing customer base as well as investing in market insight in order to prioritise and target future customers. I created a new Food Service vision and developed tactics to achieve significant growth.The results have led to a substantial enhancement of relationships within both supply partners and customer base, and in values terms, a consistent delivery of sales ahead of budget and the incremental double digit growth of both new and established accounts. The focus and strategic direction I was able to create at WBD has led them to a successful deployment of stage two of the Food Service business ahead of initial plan, which involved further recruitment and expansion into new trading areas.

Responsible for £410m turnover with a focus on developing a market winning out performance plan in Ice Cream. Worked hand in hand with key own label partners to deliver a challenging Tesco brand business. Consistently broke sales records by having a courageous availability strategy and working cross functionally to achieve market leading promotions. Worked together with R&R to innovate and deliver market a first in Chokablok a luxury ice cream. The first Tesco venture brand that delivered £10m to Tesco in its first year. Recognised for my creative nature and passion for product, I was selected to be the lead buying manger from packaged foods to design a commercial workshop. We trained all buyers in a new core skill, entitled How to create Great NPD and deliver Product Improvements.

Worked with leading brands like Birds Eye Ltd and McCain Foods to build a successful trade plan to maximise the frozen foods market in the time of recession and food deflation.Transformed my local supply base into a stronger, flexible and more competitive supply base with commercial benefits for Tesco both in the UK & Europe. Built a customer focussed range, innovated into the added value areas like frozen herbs, frozen ingredients and steamed products. Worked with my supply base to grow frozen vegetable penetration by 5% in 1 year.

Worked with leading brands Gillette and Lynx to deliver a customer focussed offer, transformed the fixture to deliver an male friendly proposition and ultimately created a more engaging and enjoyable experience for the customer. Worked closely with Personna to develop and launch the Tesco brand Matrix 3 blade Razor, a first for own brand.Delivered shopper based strategies for online, point of purchase, promotions and events to explode the male skincare category, doubled the size of the business and became the number 1 in market share for male toiletries.
