Onboard is building a pipeline of diverse and experienced tech leaders for start-up boards in New Zealand, through its board observer program.Working on a project to look into the current state of startup board governance in New Zealand.

Leading our international expansion as we entered into Australia and the UK, and responsible for strategy and planning of further markets such as North America and Singapore.

During my time as Chief of Staff our revenue grew 6x, headcount grew 4x, we launched into 2 new markets, and raised a $30m Series B round. I was part of the Senior Leadership Team, and worked across the business to fill critical gaps as we were scaling up: revenue operations, sales management, customer success, international expansion, business planning and OKRs, fundraising, internal comms, legal, interim People & Culture.

First AML is a SaaS company that automates the customer due diligence process for companies who are subject to anti-money laundering (AML) requirements. We work with financial institutions, law firms, real estate and accounting firms to help meet their ongoing compliance obligations. Clients include Movac, Blackbird Ventures, Ernst & Young, Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, Bayleys and CBRE.The company started in 2018, and I joined when we were 30-something people. My role is to help scale processes and people as we grow.

Usabilla (acquired by SurveyMonkey) helps companies and brands to collect qualitative feedback across their digital channels, to create better online experiences for their customers. I joined Usabilla when it was a 120 person bootstrapped Dutch startup, and in 2019 we were acquired by SurveyMonkey, a publicly listed US company.My impact in Biz Ops - redefining our CS strategy to increase retention and customer experience, driving regional and cross-functional initiatives as Usabilla scaled, delivering workshops to improve team dynamics. Reported directly to the CEO.My CSM responsibilities - retaining and growing our key UK customers, such as Vodafone Group, Trainline, Funding Circle, Verizon, The Body Shop, as well as Nike and Booking.com globally. In charge of product training for all new employees (commonly heard feedback - "best session in Usabilla's onboarding program").

Monk's Hill Ventures is a VC firm investing into early stage tech companies across Southeast Asia's emerging markets. Started in 2014 by Peng T. Ong and Kuo-Yi Lim, the fund's investors include Temasek, Cisco, Telstra, and Yahoo Japan.+ met and evaluated over 1,200 startups from pre-launch to Series B stage, primarily in e-commerce, marketplaces, fintech, travel and B2B SaaS (my personal favourite).+ sourced our Series A investment into Asia's fastest-growing cybersecurity SaaS company Horangi, and advised the CEO for many months before we did the deal. Continued to work closely with the board post-investment.+ April - July 2017: seconded to portfolio company Ninja Van (logistics for e-commerce) to help with regional sales ops and analytics.+ sat as a Board Observer on 4 company boards.

My role: looking for and working with great entrepreneurs, research and analysis, deal execution, portfolio support, investor relations, community and content, hiring. Actively involved in growing the investment team and setting up processes.I was based in our Singapore office and regularly travelled to cover our nearby markets Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines and Hong Kong.

Simmonds Stewart is a boutique corporate law firm focused on the technology sector, and half its clients are Southeast Asia tech companies and VCs (including Carousell, Grain, Storehub, 90seconds). It has also been recognised as the most innovative law firm in New Zealand.As a solicitor, I help founders on legal issues relevant to early stage tech companies e.g. the investment process, employees and equity (ESOP), co-founder agreements, website terms of use etc.I also do biz dev - producing content on legal/commercial matters relevant to tech companies, social media, organising events, and meeting interesting people.

Lightning Lab is New Zealand's first accelerator for digital and technology start-ups. I did biz dev for the programme's 10 start-ups.

My first "real" job as a graduate. Worked in the corporate law team, headed by Cathy Quinn and Silvana Schenone. Experiences: IPO for Synlait Milk Ltd (NZX) and Dick Smith Electronics (ASX), legal due diligence for M&A, ongoing company/director governance issues including preparation of internal company policies, and legal set-up of overseas companies entering into New Zealand.

Helping Chinese software engineers with their conversational English, to prepare them for relocation to the Google US headquarters.

The MATES scheme was run by the University of Auckland, to support high school students from low-decile backgrounds.

Interned for two summers and one winter while I was studying at university.

Spent a summer teaching English at a rural boarding school, and travelling around India.
