I am a University of Hawaii at Manoa graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME). I am interested in the design and development of new technologies, especially those relating to automation and sustainability.I was first certified in SolidWorks (CAD) as a senior in high school, and have since grown in my proficiency as well as my appreciation for its capabilities. This skill was put to use when my freshman design team developed of an electric longboard and won first place in the engineering design expo. Later, in my senior design course, I led a small team in charge of optimizing the manufacturing process of a local bakery. After a year of design, testing, failing, and iterating, my team successfully met our performance objectives: I am very proud of this accomplishment as the pandemic ensured no part of the process was easy.I have also been lucky enough to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing thanks to my internship at a metal distribution warehouse (EMJ) and my employment at Diamond Bakery. These experiences allowed me to better understand how equipment designed by engineers is put to use in the real world. Additionally, I was able to utilize some of my more technical knowledge when it came to troubleshooting and repairing an assortment of advanced automation systems. Although I am glad to have the memories and friends these experiences have provided, I am hungry to continue expanding my knowledge and expertise in my field.
