About Ludovic Blain

Ludovic is the leading organizer of California’s individual donors towards progressive policy and electoral wins by investing in communities of color-centered power building and power wielding. He leads the California Donor Table, California Donor Table Fund, Progressive Era Project, Color of Democracy Project, and Progressive Era Pac, collaborations of California's leading individual donors building a more progressive CA by investing in communities of color. Ludovic has led that family of organizations to raise more than $60 million since 2009, and move it to progressive people of color organizations, candidates and independent expenditures across the state. He's also aligned labor and foundation investments in people of color progressive infrastructure throughout CA. This infrastructure has led to congressional, state legislative, district attorney, mayoral and other candidate wins, as well as progressive policies at the regional and state levels.Previously Ludovic was Program Manager for the Closing the Racial Wealth Gap Initiative, training experts of color nationally to build a movement to close America's immense racial wealth gap. Before that he founded StopDogWhistleRacism.com at the Center for Social Inclusion, exposing implicit and explicit racism during the 2008 presidential election. Previous to that Ludovic was the founding National Campaign Coordinator for the Marguerite Casey Foundation Equal Voice Campaign, a $5 million, 18 staff campaign, culminating in 64 town halls across 12 states with over 13,000 attendees. As Demos Democracy Program Associate Director he led state campaigns for Election Day Registration and felon voting rights, including organizing the first felon voting conference in the South. As Associate Director of We Interrupt This Message he founded the East Coast office of one of the first anti-racist media strategy groups and promoted the frame ‘media justice.’ He also led environmental justice, voting rights and other campaigns for over a decade at NYPIRG. While at NYPIRG he co-founded and was the first elected board chair of the NYC Environmental Justice Alliance.Ludovic’s international work includes engaging Denmark's ruling party to oppose racism and xenophobia. He also worked in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Haiti, Canada and The Gambia, where he received honorary citizenship. He serves on several boards, including the Proteus Action League, and chairs the board of the State Leadership Project.He holds a BA from the City College of NY, and is a graduate of the Rockwood Leadership Institute.
