In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of the unit’s business segments, focusing on driving efficiency and operational strategies to enhance, extend, and build program initiatives across strategic growth areas.The STEM Scholars program is the foundation's flagship investment with UNCF. The Tech Ventures Program and Fund is an accelerator focused exclusively on supporting black startup entrepreneurship. His work includes expanding The HBCU Innovation Initiative to strengthen and diversify Silicon Valley's tech pipeline with partners including Google, Adobe, Salesforce, Twitter, Uber, eBay, Lyft, Walmart eCommerce, Symantec, and others. He was awarded the UNCF CEO-Presidential Circle Award in 2017 & 2018 and the company MVP Award in 2016, 2017, and 2019.He began his career for Silicon Valley-based startup, Snowball.com (pre-IPO), and Dailyjolt.com (Boston). Lu has worked in operational coordinating and managing roles, including CRSC (Booz Allen Hamilton DoD program), The Institute for International Public Policy, The Aspen Institute, and GMSP / The UNCF, in the Leadership Development Group, a $2 billion initiative by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.He served as a communications intern for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and as a Gubernatorial Appointments Committee Intern for Governor Mark Warner (D-Va).Lu serves on the board of directors for the Pawtricity Foundation in Washington, DC.
