Principal Investigator on a systematic review mapping the sustainability science landscape in Africa. Coordinating research across various partners, regions, and languages in Africa. The work is in its inception stage.

Co-Chairing the Africa Regional Hub (a network of over 130 members and partners), coordinated a global evaluation project on the framing of Climate Communication & Education (CCE) in the rapidly evolving policy environment and public discourse. Convened and facilitated meetings, led calls for & adjudicated the selection of funded CCE case studies.

Providing MERL services in climate and sustainability education (formal and non-formal). Services include desk research on educational policy trends, planning, conducting, and field research. Thematic expertise in social and economic justice, gender and climate adaptation and resilience, education, and human rights. Most recent clients include the Cape Leopard Trust, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, and The Education Commission, European Union - Annual Education Workshop (2023), Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa, The Learning Trust, Save our Seas Foundation, Nature Connect, and Inkululeko.

Lecture in undergrad Social Work and postgraduate Social Development. Contributions in the role include setting the tone, making lessons practical, relating to students: notably, I was influential in injecting a more contemporary culture, alignment with students, and preparing lessons that join the dots between theory and practical application.

Oranjezicht City Farm (OZCF) is a non-profit project celebrating local food, culture, and community through urban farming in Cape Town. Worked closely with the founder and director to identify and advance issues impacting the organisation’s overarching goal of lowering the environmental impact of agriculture by supporting and operating farms in neglected urban spaces.

Led a team of 5 community workers in the execution of a burns safety awareness project – meeting youths, speaking at schools, and engaging with communities. Partner organisations included the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and Phoenix Burns. Key contributions included working with a very limited budget and in war-zone-like areas. Reached 12,000 participants on a target of 8,000 (+50%).

I was involved in a range of projects and my contributions included creating a standard compliance tool for early childhood centres in the Western Cape and the formulation and implementation of skills training and poverty reduction projects.

Assisted the Collaborating Center for Operational Research and Evaluation on two national surveys on the state of health services and the living realities of the disabled.
