Main Responsibilities • Planned and executed the European Union’s Public Diplomacy strategies in Singapore • Planned and managed an annual budget of 70,000 EUD for the delegation• Lobbied the various government agencies in Singapore on various issues that are of concern with the EU• Worked with the various business interest groups (Eurocham, All European National Business Groups, Singapore Business Federation, IE Singapore, EDB Singapore, etc) to help promote the EU- Singapore FTA negotiations• Represented the interest of the European Union in the National Business Group meetings• Established positive press relations with local and foreign media• Analyzed how the EU-Singapore relationship is being reported by the local media • Managed the Delegation’s press, including high level visits by Commissioners and EU Official Press Related Activities Achievements: • Successfully pitched for news stories and documentaries relating to the EU: Generated a record high of 172% increase in news coverage for the Delegation during my time with the EU. The Singapore Delegation was singled out one of the best in the region as a result. Produce all the information products of the delegation, key high profile publications:• EU- Singapore Trade information publications• ASEM 7 / ASEM 8 publication • “Journalist Information” Guide Manage all events organized by the EU Delegation (notable events): • All conferences for the delegation. One of the more high profile events was “Celebrating UN’s 60 Years of Universal Declaration of Human Rights”. VIP speaker, Professor Tommy Koh• Organized the European Union Film Festivals and sourced for sponsorships for the festival• Took part in the Singapore Air Show and represented the EU in an exhibition space and also successfully pitch for the EU Ambassador to make a statement to the press about the EU’s contribution to the Aerospace industry in Europe.
