• Leading the Engineering Department, providing guidance and mentorship to reporting managers and other department members• Establishing and managing the engineering team's overall direction, focusing on personnel, organisational structure and operational processes• Supervising, coaching, training, motivating and mentoring personnel, setting clear goals and expectations, providing relevant feedback and discipline as required• Establishing, implementing and overseeing effective systems, processes and controls• Managing improvements in the product development process to enhance efficiency and output quality• Customer service and liaison, building strong working relationships and effective communication channels with key stakeholders• Resolving complaints and enquiries• Planning and managing team performance, skills development, talent and culture to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and increase competencies• Training and mentoring engineers in technical skills and analysis tools to prepare them for current and future roles• Analysing and addressing technical issues, offering support and solutions as needed• Developing product concepts that are manufacturable, cost-optimised and meet quality standards• Reading and interpreting technical documentation• Producing various reports, presentations, analyses, correspondence and other documentation • Performing as a strong member of a cohesive team with strict adherence to health, safety and statutory regulations, service level agreements, quality standards, governance processes and compliance requirements • Maintaining project timelines, ensuring prompt delivery and superior customer interaction• Utilising strong analytical capabilities to understand complex business practices and technical challenges

Performing all or some of the following duties in both roles with varying levels of responsibility:• Evaluating tasks and scope of work• Preparing and maintaining bills of materials and their representative 3D assemblies• Overseeing product data management• Creating 3D parts and 2D part drawings to meet supplier and regulatory requirements• Liaising with overseas suppliers and customer on designs• Conducting concept and design reviews• Learning to operate CAD software packages and PLM systems• Supporting the day-to-day activities of customers• Providing creative and technically feasible solutions for cost savings, service issues and product improvements• Interfacing with Materials and Purchasing on new part design and sourcing• Liaising with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to determine the most effective and economical use of materials and manufacturing processes• Working with Product Regulation and Compliance staff to design products that comply with government regulations, restrictions and codes
