Passionate about aerospace since I was a kid, I fulfilled my dream real by joining Italian Air Force Academy at 19 years old.My long and successful career started, right after the master’s degree in aerospace engineering, with the first responsibilities on technical management and the direction of maintenance of the fighter Aircrafts deployed during the '80s, then continued with responsibilities on logistic planning of the weapon systems in development at that time, i.e. AM-X and Eurofighter. In 1993, I was assigned to NETMA, the NATO Management Agency of the Eurofighter program located in Munich (GE), as technical specialist for the hydraulic, ECS and landing gear of the Aircraft under development.Back in Rome in 1997, I was appointed as Section Leader in the Aerospace Armament Directorate dealing with the acquisition and technical management of aerotactical and training weapon systems of the Italian Air Force, mainly AM-X and MB339.Promoted Colonel in 2004, I was assigned to NAMEADSMA, the NATO Management Agency of the Air Defense MEADS program located in Huntsville Alabama (USA), as Program and Finance Division Leader.Back in Italy in 2008, I was appointed as Director of the AMX 3rd Maintenance Depot located at the Treviso Airbase. In 2011, I was appointed as Director of Territorial Technical Office in Milan, where I was responsible for managing the contracts between the Italian Ministry of Defense and the aerospace companies of northern Italy, including Alenia, Aermacchi, Agusta and many other important SMEs.Back again in Rome in 2013, I directed the Industrial Return Program Office and the Technical Directives Office at the Aerospace Armaments Directorate, and, finally I concluded my career with the Italian Air Force, directing in 2015 the Brig. General position 2° Department "RPAS and Rotary Wings" at the Aerospace Armaments Directorate. Retired in 2016, I cofounded Aerospace Gateway newco, with the primary goal to enable the best Aerospace Italian SMEs to compete in the global market.Having concluded my experience with Aerospace Gateway in 2020, I founded in February 2021 a new consulting company, LOVAR Srl, of which I am the CEO.
