I am a post-graduate journalist and political analyst, with 21 years of experience covering international affairs and international crisis areas like Afghanistan, the Middle East, and the Balkans; as well as transnational organised crime cartels in Italy, and Latin America.I am currently based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I work as Latin America correspondent, political analyst, economic analyst, and consultant, contributing to Italian and international institutions, news agencies, newspapers, radio, and online news entities.I write about Politics, Int'l Affairs, Geopolitics, Economy, Energy, Social Conflicts, Organised Crime, and Human Rights violations. I also perform Country & Political Risk Analysis.I am fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and native Italian speaker.Specifically in Brazil, I covered the most important events that occurred in the last decade, such as the protests against the Fifa World Cup 2014, and the Olympics of Rio 2016. I subsequently wrote about the impeachment process of President Dilma Rousseff, the rise of 'Bolsonarism', the entire Jair Bolsonaro administration, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the political violence issues related to the Brazilian 2022 presidential electoral campaign. I reported on environmental issues too, mainly writing about Amazon deforestation, violence against indigenous communities, and the criminal organisation's involvement in illegal activities. Previously, from 2010 on, I devoted myself to researching Rio de Janeiro’s favelas. On these topics, I am the author of a book titled "Crime and Favelas", published in May 2016 by Eiffel Edizioni. This book is an in-depth investigation of the history of the favela, the organised crime evolution, and public security policy development.
