Reporting to the CEO, the position had overall responsibility for all the company activities in the region. The EVP and President position was a also a member of the the company Global Executive Management team. The company grew its revenues from US$ 2.0 Million to US$ 400 Million between 2004 and 2011 presenting EBITDA averaging over 20% in the period. The company was sold to General Electric in 2010 for over US$ 1.2 Billion what was about 10x its value prior to floating in the LSE in 2006. The Brazilian operations were responsible for 60% of the value.

The General Manager had overall profit and loss responsibility for the Oil & Gas Systems business in Brazil. The Oil & Gas Systems Division had three Business Units: Subsea Systems, Modification & Maintenance and Floating Production Systems covering the full scope of Turnkey contracts (EPC) for these segments. With budgeted annual sales that amounted US$ 60 Million and with over 60 dedicated staff, this Division was created by the undersigned in January 1997 from scratch, in order to serve the Brazilian market using experience and technology from other ABB international units.ABB sold its Oil & Gas division in 2004 and it became part of General Electric and recently Baker Hughes.
