The Latino Leaders Network is a space where education leaders who identify as Latino come together to build community. We aim to build trusting relationships among Latino school leaders in the Bay Area as a way to support, retain and mentor each other. To accomplish the goals of this affinity group members co-create a confidential, non-supervisory space where the use of reflective storytelling, the processing of complex challenges we experience in the field; and the sharing and mentoring of each other serves to uplift, empower and amplify our community as Latino leaders.

The Junior Center’s mission is to cultivate curiosity and creative exploration through the arts and sciences. Located in the heart of Oakland on the shores of Lake Merritt, we aim to serve all youth throughout Oakland and beyond. We value the necessity of equity and representation in the fields of art and science and invest in the future of these fields by providing equitable access to our programs. We design our programs to support innovation and creative inquiry.

Focused on the creation of a safe, nurturing, and student-centered classroom environment through community building and self-esteem promoting activities Leadership Committee (Chair): Helped to develop school-wide academic vision, created meeting agendas, implemented practical methods to increase staff motivation, and developed plan for transition into a Two Way Immersion (TWI) school School site and District English Language Advisory Committee (Teacher Liaison): Advised parents of English Language Learners on issues confronting English learners to better organized non-English speaking families in the active oversight and implementation of programs designated for English learners
