The senior locally employed staff (LES) in charge of the Supervision of investigators conducting background checks on all mission employees, new applications, licensees, and contractors. Conducts personal interviews and inquiries, which may include interviews with former employers, neighbors, colleagues, teachers, etc. Utilizing resources and contacts to gain access to sensitive records, such as police, employment, educational, and immigration data. Conducts complex and sensitive investigations, including fraud, employee embezzlement, theft, destruction of state property, and threats against the United States Government. Assist RSO with investigations resulting from the surveillance detection program. Provides protection security when assigned by RSO. It provides the RSO with expertise in relation to the language and culture of the host country. Provide continuous security advice to the RSO, give courses on crime prevention and kidnapping prevention periodically to the members of the mission at least once a year.

The senior locally employed staff (LES) in charge of the coordination and supervision of the defensive security programs, administers and supervises the contract of security services and participates in hiring, supervision and training of the guard personnel, supervisors in charge of safeguarding the mission. Coordinates and carries out the maintenance of security equipment such as metal detectors and explosives detection. Ensure the quality of the mission's safeguarding services, through updating and continuously training of the Local Guard Force teams. Serves as liaison with host country law enforcement agencies and supports investigative teams on field and internal investigations.
