Member of the team that conceived, founded, designed, and drove strategy for the Oracle Big Data Preparation Cloud Service. In the current big data landscape, data originates from an ever growing number of sources, arrives in many different formats, and can be structured, semi-structured, or unstructured. And the fact is that it’s just too much, too fast, and too complex to handle with traditional methods. As a consequence, companies are spending a disproportionate amount of time in data preparation: importing, cleansing, enriching, and blending data sources to extract the full potential of the noisy data channels linked into enterprises and cloud data hubs. This new service offers full-featured, self-service data preparation and enrichment in the Oracle Public Cloud. It leverages Scala and distributed processing platforms such as Apache Hadoop 2.0 (YARN) and Spark to automate, streamline, and guide users through this complex activity over diverse data resources. It provides technical as well as non-technical users an intuitive, interactive user experience which guides them via statistically and knowledge driven recommendations of transformations and enrichments that are applied at scale to prepare data for multiple downstream processes. A patented semantics based technology which standardizes, enriches, matches, and re-purposes product data from various sources via data service applications (DSA) that capture business rules and apply to data integration tasks; data lenses, a semantics-based approach to identify key information; and DataLens foundry, a pre-configured DSA that extracts, standardizes, and populates search dimensions. The company also provides business solutions, such as automation for information supply chains; and automated data mastering for manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. In addition, it offers IT solutions, including automated data services for product data; and data mastering for product data integration, data quality, and data governance. Company acquired by Microsoft.Managed a team of 20 software engineers including four leads in the on time delivery of quality software. Lead an effort to implement development process following the Rational Unified Process which greatly enhanced team productivity, and ensured that design requirements were being met, and top quality software products where being delivered on schedule. Lead initiative to implement development standards, improve communications between development and quality assurance and product management. Responsible for a multi-million dollar budget, hiring, mentoring, performance reviews, and setting the strategic direction of the group.Successfully assembled and managed a team of five Software Quality Assurance Engineers, 4 configuration management engineers and two technical writers, and four BETA Coordinators to deliver top-notch quality software on time. Involved with the development team from the design stage to code complete to ensure the quality of the software. Implemented procedures, wrote test plans, maintained a continuous improvement methodology from design to delivery of the product. Responsible for multiple releases every week. In total, successfully delivered more than 100 BETA/GA releases each year.

Developed and maintained procedures and systems necessary to produce a sophisticated test lab and team. Worked in close cooperation with internal development staff, end users, and clients in order to produce a quality product. Responsible for Application Program modification and new product testing and user training. Coordinated all user modification requests for existing and new Oracle RDBMS applications. Established project plans to insure all modifications and new applications migrate efficiently through development, quality assurance, and final production implementation. Established quality assurance test plans for all modifications and new applications and insure tests are conducted on a timely and thorough basis.
