Hello my name is Luis Gatica, I am currently a Quality Engineer at SIG, starting as an Intern I did not know much about real world engineering applications. After a year at this position I am proud to say I have learned many skills that have helped me become a better Engineer than I was a year ago. Given my position I have been given the opportunity to learn troubleshooting, Lean Six Sigma, Minitab, Pneumatics, PLC, SolidWorks, FMEA's, Statistical Analysis, COGNEX Vision Programming, and much more. I believe these skills have helped me become a well rounded Engineer. Although my title is Quality Engineer I find myself assisting in other areas not related to my field such as working along side the Process Engineer to upgrade a particular machine to reach the desired output, Or I'll work along side our IT department to ensure our machine PLCs are communicating with our database. I like to think I get asked to help and assist because I'm the type of person to get things done, I don't give excuses I give results. As my manager likes to put it "You have that Can-Do attitude"
