My name is Luis Jerez, I am attending Cal State University, Northridge, as an accountant undergraduate. Please consider my application for an internship position. I am on track to graduate as of Spring 2026 and am currently looking into enrolling in CPA review courses, to help better prepare for the CPA exam. I’ve always had a knack for working with numbers and being able to stay organized. Being an accountant would change not only my life but my family’s life, future or present. It’ll create a path in which not only I but my family can succeed and move us out of poverty. There’s nothing wrong with working regular 9-5 jobs but I feel as an accountant you can make a real difference in the world, and I am hungry for success. Every day one gets a chance to do right and to do better. For myself, it's a common goal to do better than the previous day. I strive to be an ethical human being not only when at work or school but my everyday life, an important trait in this line of work. I’ve been able to maintain a 3.43 GPA, on top of full credit semesters and a regular 40-hour week load job. To look beyond one’s appearance, and really try to connect with others on a personal level, in order to establish that relationship is important to me. Creating relationships and being able to communicate with clients is a skill that I utilize daily in my line of work and carry with me in whatever I do. Outside of school to try and hone my auditing skills, I look at projects or problems that include Excel sheets and auditing issues. The only thing I miss is the first-hand experience that comes with the job. Based on internship descriptions and word of mouth, the company seems very motivated to build within and help empower its employees. With that being said, I’m the perfect candidate for an internship position. As an intern, I bring someone who can adapt to the times and has an agile approach to determining success. I’m a person who establishes clear guidelines using company policies to keep staff satisfied and achieve important objectives. On top of this, incorporated into my work are excellent relationship-building, multitasking, communication, and writing skills. For capitalization on my skills, please review the attached resume. Don’t be discouraged by my lack of first-hand experience in the field of accountancy. Whatever I lack in experience, I make up with raw talent and strive to be detail-oriented, one who enjoys being challenged, in order to do better and make those around me better.
