I am a Lecturer in Large Animal Surgery and Medicine at the University of Lisbon since 2015 and head of the Equine Surgery and Emergency Service at the same Vet School.After qualifying from the Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária in Lisbon, Portugal in 2001. In 2008, I finished a residency in Large Animal Surgery at The University of Cambridge and become a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary SurgeonsI completed my PhD in bioengineering and biomechanics of musculoskeletal development under the supervision of Prof. John Hutchinson, Dr. Sandra Shefelbine and Dr. Russel Main (RVC, Imperial College, Purdue University) in June 2015.
