Luis Michal (*1992) has studied architecture at the TU Munich and the Central Academy of Fine Arts Beijing, China. After his graduation (M.A. Architecture, 2018) he participated in the prestigious DAAD-scholarship-program “Language and Practice in the PR China”, studying Chinese language in Beijing for a year, followed by an architectural internship at Atelier Li Xinggang, Beijing. During his studies he gained research experience in the context of architectural museums such as the Architectural Museum of TU Munich and during a curatorial internship in the A&D-Department of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. During 2020 to 2023 he worked as a practicing architect in several offices in Berlin and Munich. His main professional interests lie in architecture and urbanism as an applied societal discipline, it´s historic and theoretical contextualization and furthermore, the research and practice of innovative curatorial methods in the context of architectural exhibitions. Since 2023 he works as teaching assistant at the Chair for Urban Design, TU Munich as well as independent consultant, author and designer under the name of “Studio Architektur & Grafik”, www.luismichal.de.
