Premature deterioration of Jointed Plain Concrete Pavements (JPCP).• Analyzed distress prediction models of the Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) for JPCP and Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavements (CRCP). Wrote extensive parts of the final report. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) research project.• Studied and analyzed the use of Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) data for pavement rehabilitation in the MEPDG. Wrote extensive parts of the final report. FHWA research project.• Assisted in the development and installation of data acquisition system capable of collecting embedded highway sensor data for over 80 sensors measuring temperature, and strain for four rigid pavement projects. Assisted in programming and wiring of datalogger equipment. PennDOT research project for the establishment of appropriate inputs using the MEPDG in Pennsylvania.• Executed laboratory concrete material characterization determining material properties such as elastic modulus, Poisson’s ratio, flexural strength, coefficient of thermal expansion, drying shrinkage, and compressive strength.
