Capability Enhancement (CE) Principal EngineerPrincipal and Compliance Verification (CVE) Engineer of design team for the development and integration of C-130J aircraft enhancement modification program. As a CVE, I was responsible to lead the design work of the team, verifying compliance against requirements, regulations and procedures. As senior member of the team coaching, guiding and leading; promoting principles to work effectively such as lean and continuous improvement. I conducted some of the design and analysis work, and the approval of most documents generated by the team. At the time, my team was involved in four main projects involving design, manufacturing, installation and certification: Luggage Racks, Link 16, KA Band Antenna and External Fuel Tanks. Deep Maintenance (DM) Engineering Lead Managed a team of engineers providing support during the major maintenance servicing of the C-130J aircraft. The work schedule of DM is very dynamic. It requires good communication between Maintenance, Logistics and Engineering in order to coordinate the delivery of engineering documentation to complete the servicing and ensure aircraft availability on time. Apart from leading the team, I carried out a large percentage of the reviews, approvals and compliance verification work for the team.Through Life Support (TLS) Senior EngineerParticipated in numerous maintenance tasks supporting the Structures and the Airframe (Systems) maintenance teams (Airbus and RAAF). I have been involved in developing maintenance publications, designing modifications and integrating equipment into the aircraft. I have been given authority to perform compliance verification, approval and design acceptance for designs, maintenance publications, maintenance policies and modifications on the C-130J aircraft. While in Through Life Support (TLS), I have taken the leadership of the TLS Structures team in several occasions.

Member of a dynamic engineering consultant providing engineering services mainly to the civil aviation industry covering design, manufacturing, operations and maintenance. Most of the work was for aviation, however some of the work included design and certification work for the car racing industry, and marine industry. A significant amount of work included providing engineering support to aircraft operators and maintenance workshops, including airlines. This work involved structural design repair and modifications.Two of the main projects in which I was involved are: BAe Systems CT-4B Aircraft Enhanced CrashworthinessCT-4B (RAAF ab-initio training aircraft) was modified to increase the crashworthiness (survivability of the crew). I worked on the design of the aircraft seat and crew restrain modifications, designed the crash test rig, test article manufacturing coordination, documentation for certification of the modified aircraft, manufacturing of the modification kits and documentation for the modified aircraft fleet. This included liaison with operators, customers and suppliers. This upgrade consists of relatively simple and cost effective modifications that allowed the aircraft to continue operations for a several more years meeting the new and more demanding RAAF crashworthiness requirements. CareFlight Stretcher BridgeA new stretcher bridge top was designed for CareFlight. This structural component interfaced with several pieces of medical equipment, which included a respirator and an electrical power source. This equipment needed features to allow medical personnel to quickly remove and install equipment changing th configuration to suit the needs of the patient. This equipment interfaced with different medical equipment and was used on several aircraft types. Flexibility for different configurations was the of the main customer requirement. This project involved design, manufacturing and certification.

Research and Development Project LeaderR&D project leader of a multidisciplinary team, of twelve people, mainly engineers. Team members included Sydney and UNSW universities, the Cooperative Research Centre for Advanced Composites (CRC-ACS) and HdH. The objective of the project was the development of a failure analysis tool used to predict delamination growth in composite structures. I was responsible for managing the project which included the design and manufacturing of test specimens and test fixtures to validate the analysis tool. Research and Development EngineerHdH was a design and manufacturing company supplying aircraft components to main aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier and Lockheed Martin. HdH was specialised in composite parts for civil and military aircraft. As an R&D Engineer I worked in the development of composite manufacturing processes using new materials, such as liquid moulding: RFI (Resin Film Infusion), RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding), VARTM (Vacuum Assisted RTM). This involved tooling design, tooling manufacturing, manufacturing process experimental trials, material testing, structural analysis and testing of structures made with new materials and processes. I have worked with members from different organisations such as manufacturing companies, universities, material manufacturers, tooling manufacturers and analysis software companies. I have experience working in the design office and the workshops, and I was directly involved in manufacturing, non-destructive inspections and testing with the new materials and processes. I have been involved in structural and cost optimisation design studies and participated in the design and certification of the 787 Flaps and Ailerons.

Part time member of an engineering consultant providing services to the civil aviation industry covering design, manufacturing, operations and maintenance. I worked providing engineering support to general aviation maintenance shops and QANTAS regional airline. I was involved on the design and structural analysis of a neo natal unit installation frame for Care Flight. This unit was to be certified to be transported in aircraft and ground ambulances. I worked on the manufacturing drawings for an EC-135 helicopter extended range internal fuel tank.

Draftsman, transferring the manufacturing drawings of the hot air balloon model envelopes, burners and baskets from hand drawn paper into digital format using AutoCAD. Modelling and drafting of the new balloon model (KAV-B-400) for 20 passengers. Development of new procedure to extract manufacturing flat patterns from AutoCAD 3D models of the balloon envelopes.

AVENSA was the largest airline in Venezuela at the time, with a fleet of more than 50 aeroplanes, the fleet included: Boeing B727, B737 and B757.I was member of the engineering team providing support to the systems maintenance personnel and component shops. I worked on the design a new wheel overhaul facility and the new emergency equipment maintenance shop.
