About Luis Sanchez-Diaz

Presently, I am a fifth-year international student from Mexico at the University of Calgary pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science with minors in Security Studies and Law & Society with Co-op education and an Embedded Certificate in Pluralism and Global Citizenship. Proficient at speaking English and Spanish and intermediate French. Furthermore, I work as National Student Recruitment Support at UCalgary's Admission and Recruitment Office, where I support the recruitment process by providing information, resources, and advising to prospective students. On the other hand, I serve as President for the Faculty of Arts Students’ Association (FASA) representing close to 8,000 Arts students at UCalgary before Faculty Administration. In this position, I oversee the administration of the Association that includes managing over 50 volunteer staff and handle an operating budget of around $20,000.00 per year. Moreover, I have participated in several volunteer and co-curricular activities at UCalgary through the Leadership and Student Engagement Office, the Student Conduct Office, the Hunter Hub Lab, and have engaged in various extracurricular activities such a as serving as Vice President Communications for the UofC Political Science Association (PSA). In addition, I have successfully completed multiple certifications across community engagement, leadership, research, and languages.
