Luis Santana-Blank, MD, is a leading photobiomodulation (PBM) expert and member of the board of editor of four American cancer and PBM peer-reviewed medical journals. He co-founded POLYTON LASER INC, a Montreal based start-up, currently seeking to bring to the market an innovative advanced laser technology for the treatment of Glioblastoma Multiforme. Together with Dr. Elizabeth Rodríguez de Santana, he co-authored the pre-project titled: “Modulation of the structure and function of water by laser / light as a new mechanistic approach for the treatment of Complex Diseases (CDs)” selected by The Institute for Venture Science’ Board (www.IVSCI.org) as a top proposal among more than 200 submissions seeking to test breakthrough ideas in science. For more than three decades, he served as Global Head of Research of Fundalas, Foundation for Interdisciplinary Research and Development, where he co-directed a phase I clinical trial in patients with advanced neoplasias treated with an Infrared Pulsed Laser Device of his invention (US patent N°5,231,984); and he co-authored numerous theoretical, experimental and clinical papers in leading peer review journals, in collaboration with scientists from international organizations such as Pasteur Institute in France; the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, in Trieste -Italy, the Central University of Venezuela, and the Biomedicine Institute, located in Caracas-Venezuela.Dr. Santana-Blank holds a medical doctor degree and a post-graduate degree in internal medicine from Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV). He completed a pneumonology fellowship at J.I. Baldó Hospital and received specialized training in laser applications at Valfibre and the Milan Tumor Institute (Milan-Italy). He is a former professor of medicine of UCV.
