Luis is an expert in government and international affairs with special focus on sustainable finance and innovation. Before joining MetLife, Luis worked at the Mexican Council of Sustainable Finance, where he led the CMFS' institutional relations. Previously, he collaborated for two years at the Mexican Association of PE and VC Funds (AMEXCAP), leading efforts towards the attraction of both local and foreign invesment into the Private Equity industry.For more than a decade, he worked for the Mexican Federal Government, participating in international trade negotiations with the European Union, Brazil, Argentina and Central America countries. Also, Luis represented Mexico in the technical innovation group of the Pacific Alliance (a group of countries comprised of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru), and APEC.Luis holds a BA in International Relations from ITAM, and a MSc in Innovation for Sustainability from the University of Sussex (Science and Policy Research Unit), in the UK. In 2018, the British government awarded him the Chevening scholarship.
