I am actively seeing patients but I am also responsible for the coordination of medical care and clinical services such as cost management, utilization review, quality assurance, and medical protocol development, supervision of contracted nurse practitioners and physician assistants, planning medical projects for the community, representation of the company, interviewing physicians that might become part of the company. Also attend standing meetings (board, committee, etc.), provide guidance and leadership for performance guidelines, oversee clinical peer review and documentation and care planning, manage physician relations, handle clinical patient complaints, address emergency issues, support physician and mid-level education, handle physician behavior and impairment issues.I am a physician preceptor for medical students from University of Houston-College of Medicine since 2021 and also for nurse students for Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi College of Nursing & Health Sciences.
