As a Training Officer for this non-profit organisation, I organise monthly training sessions and recruit students from Newcastle University to run activities for kids in hospitals and refugees. In this role where communication skills are essential, I must ensure that all the volunteers are knowledgeable on safeguarding and know how to work around kids. Additionally, I run meetings with other board members of the organisation to ensure that the Make a Smile branch in Newcastle runs smoothly. Through this, we achieved more than 100 new volunteers in the past 2 years and managed to organise and run multiple successful events for kids.

As a volunteer in the Palliative Care Center, I was in charge of the leisure of patients. I run multiple arts sessions and was a friendly ear for the patients meanwhile their medications were administered. Additionally, I assisted nurses and other members of the staff with the vitals of the patients, requiring great attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Also, I had to record the time of administration of different drugs and any changes in the well-being of the patients, always ensuring their comfort.
