My New Yorker boss used to say that a good Account must "understand creativity" and never submit a job unless you are fully convinced of its quality. Throughout my 25 years of experience in creative and web agencies, I have always maintained close contact with creatives and developers. When dealing with clients, it is crucial to know what you are talking about to provide competent answers, grasp stimuli, offer insights, give explanations, evaluate ideas, present effectively, and negotiate skillfully. That's what distinguishes an Account from someone who merely rubber-stamps work.
