Orion Health and Medical Technical Authority integrator in support of Johnson Space Center

Goal was to build a spacesuit using commercial off the shelf materials and components to be used for field testing of mission operations and planetary exploration tools. Obtained a lot of experience with project management including scheduling, documentation, presentation skills, leadership skills, conflict management and project monitoring. Also developed skills within systems engineering including risk analysis, budget development, requirement development and project troubleshooting.

Part of a team of a dozen students who spent a year working on a moon human landing system design and mock up development sponsored by Lockheed Martin. Team worked directly with a industry contact to develop a design and mock up of the Lockheed HLS concept for human factors testing. This included working on life support system (ECLSS) design, mass and power budgets, mock up construction, spacesuit design and construction, requirement and testing documentation and ANSYS analysis. Served as a team lead for the ECLSS group and one of two members of the spacesuit design and built team. Obtained a lot of experience with fiberglassing, requirement research and documentation, construction techniques, project management and spacesuit/ECLSS design.

Senior Design project sponsored by NASA Jet Propulsion Lab Goal: To build a system that will use a 3D Printer to create an infrastructure on the surface of Mars. The robotics team is responsible for developing a robotic assembly that will collect the product delivered by the 3D printer and assemble it.

- Performed preliminary technical and physical design of a resistor bank to mimic the four main thruster parts and ordered the necessary parts along with starting the manufacturing of the resistor mounts for propulsion system testing - Designed a safety relay circuit box and assembled the initial prototype and assisted in developing a program on LabView to allow for testing of the safety circuit for “Characterization of a Small Railgun-based Plasma Jet Source” project
