International tax advisor to clients in a range of industries (e.g. renewable energies, chemicals, entertainment industry, real estate)Assisting clients in international restructuring transactions, inbound and outbound planning as well as in cross border financing strategies. Mainly focused in Latin-American countries (in-bound and out-bound investments).Member of the Private Equity tax practice, a cross-functional, cross-geography, cross-sector team focused on serving Private Equity firms, and their portfolio companies. My Private Equity related work includes: • Advising on fund-structuring options to mitigate exposure to tax on investments.• Advising on the fund managers’ regulatory and compliance requirements.• Advising on tax efficient forms of financing a target investment.• Designing tax efficient investments structure, assisting in the analysis of the different investment alternatives and, taking into consideration all the jurisdictions implied and the pool of investors, identifying the most tax efficient alternative. • Advising on an exit strategy that limits tax liabilities for divestitures.Member of the Global Trading Group, directly reporting to the Partner in charge, focused in:• Addressing capital gains, dividend, interest tax, securities transfer tax, etc., treatment under source country tax law.• Analyzing existing and prospective investments to determine appropriate tax treatment.• Assisting in tax technical reviews of uncertain tax positions, issue tax memoranda, and/or seek tax rulings.• Assessing permanent establishment exposure.• Analyzing reclaim opportunities by country; in particular tax treaties or EU discriminatory withholdings.• Developing alternative structures for existing funds and investments.• Structuring new funds and investments to minimize capital gains taxation and other taxes.Managing, directing, monitoring, and delivering multiple client engagements teams while maintaining active communication with clients.
