Luis Alfaro is a committed, dedicated and passionate individual who achieves goals with success. Luis is a dedicated and ambitious student pursuing a major in public relations with a minor in classical culture. His academic journey at the renowned Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma has equipped him with a strong foundation in strategic communication, media relations, crisis communication, research, editing, writing and creative storytelling.​As Luis is a student discussion leader in Introduction to Media, he had the opportunity to work closely with 10 to 20 students each semester. This role allowed him to facilitate engaging discussions and foster an environment where students could explore the multifaceted world of media. Additionally, his poetry and publications garnered recognition from the Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission, highlighting his commitment to intertwining creativity with cultural heritage and preparation for the centennial celebration in 2026.During Luis' time in Gaylord, he had the privilege of collaborating with various clients and companies across different aspects of public relations. For crisis communication, he developed strategies for Expedia, allowing him to navigate complex scenarios in a high-pressure environment. His work with the Stafford Air and Space Museum in Weatherford, Oklahoma, focused on creating a media relations campaign that effectively showcased the museum's offerings. Furthermore, in his PR Research class, he partnered with the UN to address one of their key objectives: promoting quality education. This experience enriched his understanding of global issues and the role of communication in driving meaningful changes.His passion for public relations lies in expanding brand presence, aligning with client goals and collaborating effectively within a team. Luis believes that successful PR is not just promoting a brand; it is about understanding the client's vision and working together to achieve their objectives. This collaborative spirit fuels his drive to create impactful campaigns that resonate with audiences and elevate brand narratives.
