An accredited professional, Luisa brings over twenty years of progressive human resources and labour relations experience and leadership working in complex unionized environments in both the private and public sectors. Since joining PSEA in 2015, Luisa has provided the post-secondary sector in BC with collective bargaining, contract administration, and benefits coordination services. In addition to acting as lead spokesperson for several institutions and providing bargaining support, Luisa sits as a member on several sectoral committees, including joint benefit committees. Prior to joining PSEA, Luisa provided advocacy support and representation for Management and Professional (M&P) staff working at UBC for the Association of Administrative and Professional Staff (AAPS) that included contract interpretation, grievance management and collective bargaining. Luisa has also worked in various human resources roles for the British Columbia Transmission Corporation (BCTC, now merged with BC Hydro), the Canadian Forces Personnel Support Agency, and Zellers. Luisa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and is a certified Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR). She is also a member of the Chartered Professional in Human Resources of BC and Yukon since 2004.
