About Luisa Florez, Eit
I am a well-traveled, hard-working and motivated M.S. in Environmental and Water Resources Engineer. My professional goal is to utilize my skillset to drive effective environmental, sustainability and water strategies in industry by leveraging my analytical, communication, and programming skills. As a B.S. in Geosystems Engineering and Hydrogeology, I enjoy combining my engineering skills and geological knowledge to solve and analyze challenges. I also have a B.A. in Anthropology and can provide an important humanistic perspective and strong communication skills needed for unique and comprehensive solutions. I have environmental management experience in deepwater oil and gas, offshore and onshore wind, and carbon capture and storage projects across different project phases, particularly early business development and execute phases. In addition, I have internship experience as an engineer in the energy industry, engineering consulting and in state government. I enjoy writing and am looking forward to using this skill to communicate clear and concise ideas.I enjoy getting to know other cultures and am passionate about mentoring, especially through educational outreach events to help motivate younger students to pursue higher education. For the past 11 years, I have been an active leader in organizations like the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, holding both regional and local leadership roles. Most recently, I was the Region 5 Regional Junior Representative helping promote STEM in K-12 communities across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.
