- Designed a hermetic seal mechanism ensuring no potential cross-contamination of Earth and Mars particles for the upcoming NASA Mars Sample Return mission. Responsibilities included: Selecting the appropriate materials for the testing coupons Modeling parts and assemblies in CAD (NX). Performing hand calculations such as peak stresses, thermal expansions, and bolted joint analyses. Creating and releasing geometrically dimensioned and tolerance drawings (GD&T) using EPDM Teamcenter. Coordinating with other engineers, sections, and contractors to gain approval for designs.- Developed topology optimized mechanical components using Hyperworks for the translational stage of a robotic testbed which reduced material costs by 30% while still maintaining required structural stiffness.- Programmed a MATLAB script that performed structural analysis on mechanical components under different load cases to ensure a positive margin.

- Designed antenna structural components for the Medium Displacement Unmanned Surface Vessel (MDUSV) Sea Hunter which improved radar contact detection.- Designed a housing unit for an emergency tow line in the event Sea Hunter needed to be tugged to shore.- Created AutoCAD drawings of our main pier for vessel docking locations and other pier-side organization.- Installed stereo cameras on top of the bridge that refined and enhanced Sea Hunter’s image capturing capabilities.

• Researched advanced rocket propulsion systems and guided our team in designing the injector of an RP1/liquid oxygen bipropellant rocket engine with the desired output of 5,000 lb-f.• Designed injector domes, bi-swirls injector posts, and thrust mounts using SolidWorks for our rocket.• Conducted computational fluid dynamic (CFD) analysis of the flow through the dome and injector posts using AnsysFluent to validate my designs.• Ran finite element analysis (FEA) simulations to analyze stress and thermal changes of my rocket component designs,resulting in stronger and lighter components.
