When presented with the opportunity to join a healthcare system among the nation’s leading academic medical centers, I decided to take my talents to.... Somerville!The exciting work started early with my first project; programming and implementing the Wisdom module. This is Epic’s dental information system that provides dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants with tools to document dental health information and to plan treatments. I worked closely with stakeholders from the dental practices. Through much analysis and technical design reviews, I took account of legacy systems and transitioned existing workflows to the new platform. I also took a leadership role on the project as a change coordinator helping the impacted end users throughout the project plan. This included developing impact assessments, stakeholder analysis and communication plans for all the affected business units. Beyond our successful launch, I led a post implementation assessment for the technical platform and end user satisfaction survey reviews. The fun didn't stop there.I also had the opportunity to join forces with a group of certified athletic trainers and physical therapists. Our challenge was to expand documentation workflows in the EMR to be ready and accessible at the high school and college sporting arenas. We currently have over 20 schools across New England supported by our sports medicine program.

With a healthy amount of contacts established within the New England Epic community, I knew of Lahey Health and their developing EHR teams. When I was offered the chance to join this growing team with exciting project work, I seized the opportunity. During my time at Lahey, I worked on many patient-impactful projects. Most of this work came from the MyChart side of the application. The work we completed increased patient satisfaction scores and reviews for the organization.

Opening and operating this small business was a lifelong dream realized. Studio Crepe was a beautiful space full of soothing sounds, brilliant art and delicious food and drinks. Members of the community fell in love with the café. We earned ratings of 5/5 on Google Reviews, 5/5 on Facebook and 4/5 on Yelp. Unfortunately, the business design was not able to survive the challenges of a fluctuating population within a seasonal community. Even so, I am proud of the staff we recruited, trained and empowered. They consistently delivered top-notch customer service. I am proud of the relationships we established and grew with patrons, other local businesses, vendors, community fundraising groups and tourists. And I am proud of taking on the challenge of turning a dream into reality. It called for me to become a better organizer and leader.

I took the position of IT Project Manager as an opportunity to apply and grow the project coordinator skills I gained in previous work experiences. I joined the Epic EHR team to manage and lead their system upgrade project. In a short time, I was able to decipher the current project delivery structure and identify key areas of improvement to help facilitate a more efficient project plan (saving the organization an extra 5 weeks of projected work time).I was responsible for the direction, scope, cost, schedule, quality, and success of the project. I coordinated all project activities. This included software and hardware implementation training, optimization, business and IT related tasks, internal communications, process improvement, and developed a plan for sustaining support.

As an analyst on the Epic Configuration Team, I was responsible for supporting the EMR application project needs of the organization. I managed and facilitated small, medium and large sized projects through the system development life cycle (planning, analysis, design, testing, training, implementation and post live support). I collaborated with internal and cross team members to deliver on-time system enhancements. I also organized and lead stakeholder meetings with various leadership review boards and decision makers. Project highlights include:•Project Team Lead for EHR system upgrade and bi-monthly system update package implementations•Lead project manager for multiple “Project Bundles”; major annual project release packages based on prioritized customer service requests•Lead analyst on Results Management project; CRICO required project to develop an enterprise-wide workflow for managing abnormal and incidental imaging exam results
