Chairman Of The BoardLatino Institute For Corporate Inclusion 2011 - PresentLatino Institute for Corporate InclusionIn 2014, the Latino Institute for Corporate Inclusion (“LICI”) in partnership with the Career Ladders Project (CLP) for California Community Colleges completed an ICT Study into the talent pipeline challenges and impediments encountered by Latinos and African Americans pursuing careers in the Tech sector in California, publishing the report entitled “Information Communications Technologies Study.” It was highlighted by the CA Dept. Ed. Superintendent Tom Torlakson as a unique study that demonstrates the need for funding ICT/DM & STEM pathways projects around the state. The LICI, through its growing coalition of national Latino organizational members, is focused on driving an agenda of Tech inclusion in advancing Latinos into the world of software development, ICT professionals, designers and tech entrepreneurs in California and across the country. The LICI seeks to accomplish its mission through a combination of education, information, mutual cooperation and partnerships with educators, corporate executives, the Latino community, academia and the Tech industry. We are following the LICI ICT Study and building a community of action around addressing the diversity opportunity and challenge. In 2016, in partnership with several national and state organizations, the LICI launched the Latino Tech Summit, in Silicon Valley, a two-day conference designed to advance the relationships between tech companies, tech organizations and their Latino employee resource groups, educational partners, non-profits, and Latino tech professionals. The Latino Tech Summit is only one signature event that will begin year-round activity poised to support the building of a Latino Tech Community of Action focused on the advancement of Latinos into the world of software development, ICT professional, designer and tech entrepreneur in California.
