Hi, I'm Luis, the CEO and founder of SurplusMap, a GreenTech startup that helps energy stakeholders collaborate and build more charging points for electric vehicles. With over 20 years of experience in various fields, from edTech to environmental studies, I'm passionate about creating a positive impact through innovation and technology. At SurplusMap, we leverage ML and satellite data to integrate data from different sources in a user-friendly map interface. Our mission is to address the generational challenge of climate change by optimizing power system costs, harnessing excess energy, and balancing human activities, environmental needs, and energy consumption. We're supported by Simula Innovation, Equinor-Techstars, Bentley Systems, and the European Space Agency, and we're always looking for new partners and opportunities to grow our network and scale our solution. Besides leading SurplusMap, I'm also a mentor at Techstars, where I share my insights and expertise with aspiring entrepreneurs. I hold an M.Phil. in Sustainability and Cultural Change from the University of Oslo and a member of the Global Network of Highly-Skilled Mexicans Abroad. When I'm not immersed in the startup sphere, I enjoy cycling, cooking, and traveling. I speak English, Spanish, French, Norwegian fluently and some German, and I'm always eager to learn new languages and cultures.
