Over two decades ago, I embarked on my journey as a civil engineer, and it has been an exhilarating ride ever since. My career has been intricately woven with the realms of digitalization, technology application, and the dynamic art of team leadership.Currently, I serve as the General Manager at TECMO SA, a renowned Colombian company known for its Team, unparalleled expertise in fabricating steel structures and recognized as the industry's foremost authority in delivering excellence in steel craftsmanship and engineering innovation.Before joining TECMO, I held the position of General Manager at SITECH Colombia, a prominent member of the GECOLSA (CAT) Machinery Group. In this role, I worked alongside an exceptional team with a shared purpose of driving the digital and technological transformation of the construction, mining, and environmental sectors.My journey includes co-founding RAILTECH, a company deeply committed to enhancing Colombia's railway infrastructure and competitiveness. Overseeing large-scale infrastructure projects with 500+ collaborators, I played a pivotal role in revolutionizing the industry by introducing innovative construction methodologies and technologies, including automation, all executed by a fully Colombian team. Furthermore, I've actively pursued groundbreaking technologies, from machine vision for railway inspections to carbon/glass fiber reinforcement for non-structural masonry walls.My academic foundation began with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Universidad de los Andes in 2002. Subsequently, I pursued a master’s degree in civil engineering, specializing in Structural and Seismic Engineering, in 2004. My quest for knowledge continued with an MBA in 2008 and continued with a master’s degree in civil engineering, with a focus on Railroad Engineering, from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 2010.
