Specialties: teaching, political organizing, data management and analysis, small business management, academic research, event planning, volunteer and employee recruitment and training, new media marketing, administrative support, customer service. One summer in the mid 90s, a Southern California farm boy watched his mother and her coworkers organize against the farm that sprayed her with pesticides. Despite lacking education and social capital, the farm workers won compensation for this injustice through power of organizing. In my professional career, I have specialized in creating avenues for people to take charge of their own destinies like my mother did before me, using analytic approaches and practical solutions. Currently I am working as an elementary school teacher to help students create these opportunities for themselves through the creation of a rigorous, differentiated, data driven learning environment with an emphasis placed on validating my students Spanish speaking, working class, and Latino backgrounds. In the past I have worked as an organizer for various political campaigns. As an organizer, I have used my research background and education in politics to identify community needs and create innovative strategies to reach out to individual stakeholders. Additionally, working as an organizer required me to effectively brand and market candidates through multiple avenues. I have experience managing the day to day administration of these duties for a team. I complement my organizing work with experiences in the private sector, academic research, event planning and administrative support giving me a wide range of experiences and demonstrating the proven ability to adapt my skillset to a range of projects. I’d like to learn from you, reach out if you’d like to talk about education, politics, economics, business, critical race theory, or technology.
