Credit Risk Management - Leveraged Loan Underwriting and Monitoring- Covered a portfolio of highly leveraged companies (6x debt / EBITDA and above) across multiple industries including industrial manufacturing, aerospace & defense, and transportation companies.- Conducted very extensive due diligence to acutely understand the risks and opportunities of underwriting new loans used for M&A, dividend recapitalizations, LBOs and refinancings.- Valued companies using comp analysis, peer transaction multiples, and discounted cash flow approaches.- Monitored performance of new loans underwritten and prepared quarterly and annual reviews.

Ratings and Research - Corporate Finance Group- During my tenure, I covered over 100 investment and speculative grade companies within the heavy manufacturing, aerospace & defense, and equipment rental industries. Also covered trucking, logistics, maritime shipping, telecom construction services, and education services sectors.- Conducted extensive and detailed analysis of credit-related events (i.e. acquisitions, mergers, capital restructurings and refinancings) to assess the impact to the company’s respective credit ratings.- Reviewed and analyzed preliminary and final debt documentation for bonds and leveraged loans, prepared financial projection models and loss given default models, and prepared rating recommendation packages used for internal rating committees.- Periodically met with senior executives of companies covered, senior bankers and private equity sponsors thus developing relationships and understanding of strategic actions.- Built multi-scenario financial projections and calculated expected loss and recovery rates of all rated debt instruments based on priority ranking, security, and guarantees across company's capital structure.- Supported multiple lead analysts in the coverage and drafting of credit research.- Contributed to various ad-hoc projects involving the development of new internal databases for the collection of specific private data as well as promoting proper records retention.- Trained and mentored new associates.- Co-authored the Moody's Equipment Rental Rating Methodology (published December 2014).

- Processed bank reconciliations of internal accounting systems and investigated any discrepancies between bank accounts.- Updated foreign exchange rates for remittance transactions in order for client deposits to be applied in a timely and efficient manner.- Assisted in creating, maintaining and updating reports applicable to the needs of the Finance Department.- Employed strong bilingual (Spanish) communication and interpersonal skills to interact with other colleagues and field offices located in the southern U.S. and Mexico.
