I have significant expertise in translational research combining machine learning techniques with experimental, analytical, and computational neuroscience and mathematical modeling to develop neural prostheses and neural interfaces for studying and controlling neural function. My ultimate goal is improving quality of life for individuals suffering from neurologic injury or disease by understanding the underlying neural mechanisms and developing effective clinical interventions.In addition, I have a strong interest in teaching and mentoring. Particularly machine learning, computational neuroscience, computer modeling, control theory, medical instrumentation, biomechanics, and scientific writing. My specialties and areas of interest are Medical device technology, Machine learning techniques, Neurostimulation, Neural interfaces, Neuroprostheses, Neural mechanisms of disease, as well as Computational and translational neuroscience.
