I am an immigrant from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As both an immigrant and a South American, I have not only learned to become a hardworking individual from my parents, but also persistent about appreciating and taking every opportunity that I have seen in front of me. For example, the moment that I was able to finally work in the United States, I started applying for all types of jobs, even for jobs that were not necessarily related to what I really wanted to do in the future. Through my tenacious attitude and useful life lessons that I have gained from my childhood, as well as from my education, I have reached a point in my life where I think that I can achieve even more success now than I have previously thought in the past. Nonetheless, working at the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development as a civil servant has provided me a path towards a long-term career in the public sector. I plan to continue to work as a public servant for many years to come; learn better ways to provide service to the public; connect better with my colleagues, supervisors, and upper management; improve my professionalism as an employee; and establish a positive impression as I journey through difficult, and yet, uplifting obstacles throughout my state government career. Specialties: • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) • Microsoft Teams• Zoom• Bilingual: English, Portuguese; Conversational in Spanish
