About Luis Munguía

I have a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of California, Irvine. I have worked as an external consultant at the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. I also have experience as Economist of the Foreign Trade Office at Banco de México and Deputy Director of Foreign Trade Statistics at the Ministry of Economy. I have written and published academic articles on labor economics and minimum wages in international journals. I am currently President of the Mexican National Minimum Wage Commission, which is in charge of the minimum wage policy in Mexico.Additionally, I am a proficient user of statistical software like Stata, Python, Eviews, SPSS, and Matlab. Research Interests: Labor economics, econometrics, applied machine learning and social inequality.
