Luis Ponce is the SEIU Local 105’s Strategic Campaign and Research Director. A Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service graduate, he also holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico. His work and experience is focused in the intersection of law, human and labor rights, and community empowerment. He has served the United Nations Development Program (United Nations Volunteers) as a Volunteer Training Specialist in Peru. Fluent in Spanish, he is also competent in French and Portuguese, and has sought additional certifications in data analytics, political communication, regional and comparative law, and international business transactions in South America and Asia. He has been interviewed by Peruvian and Puerto Rican media, and his articles on international affairs and law have been featured in Caribbean and national magazines. He has served in the Latino Leadership Institute’s Alumni Advisory Council, the Ricardo Flores Magón Academy Board, and the Denver Regional Board of the Book Trust. He is the co-founder of the national organization “Boricuas Unidos en la Diáspora”.
