I believe in a Patient Centered Philosophy. An ideal where clinicians and healthcare allies work together with the patient to improve their overall healthcare goals. I have always had a strong affinity in the field of HIV care and Prevention. Through the last 40 years we have seen medical advances that allow patients to know that a once considered terminal disease can now be managed to allow one to live a normal and healthy live. As we work together to end the HIV Epidemic, we need to share solutions, resources and ideas to meet our goals. I received my PharmD degree from the University of Washington School of Pharmacy along with a Teaching Certificate in Pharmacy Education. I have had the opportunity to teach different teaching modules both in the US, Caribbean and Peru. I currently work as an HIV Treatment Medical Scientist for Gilead Sciences covering the San Diego area along with the States of Nevada and Arizona. My role allows me to provide Scientific and Clinical Data to healthcare providers and allies and to support them with clinical research to improve and advance HIV Care. My work experience includes over 15 years experience in Specialty Pharmacy Services with expansive knowledge in HIV, Oncology, Solid Organ Transplant, Chronic Inflammatory Disease and Hepatitis C care. I have a particular interest in HIV care, having worked in that field since 2003. My experience in that field has included being an instructor for State required HIV education and prevention for both Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists, Spoken in panels and training sessions on HIV for AIDS Servicing Organizations, UW School of Pharmacy. I also have been part of the Gilead Sciences Medical Affairs Advisory Panel in 2018.
