I've been developing digital products for +15 years in my own company and consulting for many others, mainly in a leading role taking care of clients & users and supervising the design and technical team (mainly with WordPress). I’ve realize that the place I add more value and have more fun is finding put what costumers really think and build tools according to it. I really think that the best way of tackling a business problem as a challenge to figure out what’s on the minds of the costumers and being from there. My approach is basically empirical, based on facts, evidence, data and not assumptions. Designing or developing a costumer journey or any other artifact is not a matter of genius or inspiration from a great team. It starts with a good knowledge of what the customers understand, want or desire about your product and the world around it.Once you know with some certainty what the customer wants, you can begin to define problems and solutions, test them and start to check if the assumptions are true. This is how a virtuous cycle begins with the development team improving digital products, first in private and then with clients in the Real World (TM).The dev team is always a good ally when you show them what it is for what you ask them to build and why you conceptualize it that way. It helps to speed up the improvement-measurement-prototyping-testing-improvement cycle. Alining devs with clients is the ultimate way of achieving business goals.
