BrookLynk is a youth employment program directed by the Cities of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park which exists to coordinate partnerships that prepare employers to engage the next generation of workers and to connect young people in the Brooklyns facing barriers to employment with the skills, experiences and professional social networks needed to develop their pathway to college and career. To help carry the work of BrookLynk, my role is coordinate and oversee operations of BrookLynk. Included in my responsibilities as the program coordinator are:1. Overall coordination to support policy, funding, and best practices for BrookLynk program - Coordinate (organize and execute) the BrookLynk Advisory Board - Determine the degree of support from the private sector, Cities of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park, and other partners that will contribute key resources towards implementation.- Understand the results, benefits and value-add to the Community and report out results to key stakeholders to garner support for this work.- Align local municipalities and county resources, and philanthropy resources to support both policy and practice of this work.2. Overall coordination, development, and evaluation of BrookLynk Program- Develop partnerships with local businesses, chambers of commerce, and business associations to build internships for youth- Develop, implement, and evaluate pre-employment trainings- Build capacity to increase scale of BrookLynk programming to serve more participants- Provide oversight on the coordination, development, and evaluation of key programming elements - BrookLynk Alumni Network, BrookLynk Youth Job Fair, BrookLynk Youth Job Board, and Youth Ambassadors and Outreach Team
