Soy un apasionado y altamente motivado ingeniero de software. Me gusta ser ingeniero de software porque me da la oportunidad de ser creativo y de usar tecnologías innovadoras para solucionar problemas. Creo que a día de hoy las tecnologías no son lo más valioso en un desarrollador de software. Éstas se pueden aprender pero, en mi opinión, las cualidades personales y la atención a la calidad del software son más deseables. Empecé a programar para iOS hace cuatro años. He contribuido de manera importante en los proyectos iOS en los que he trabajado y tengo un aplicación en el AppStore, iSpellChecker. Ruby (y Ruby on Rails) ha sido la plataforma a la que más rápidamente empecé a contribuir. Desde cero, en pocos días estaba aportando en áreas centrales al proyecto en el que trabajo. Mi pasión por la calidad y la atención al detalle son claves en mi día a día. También tengo 3 años de experiencia en Java y todo su ecosistema. La clave es que me encuentro muy cómodo aprendiendo nuevas tecnologías. Esto me ha traído buenas oportunidades de hacer importantes aportaciones a los proyectos en los que he trabajado.De mis experiencias he aprendido que disfruto trabajando en un equipo con gente motivada con quien compartir éxitos y desafíos. I'm involved in both iOS development for the native iPad app that acts as the cash register and Ruby on Rails for the backend (web reports and API). I'm also involved in front-end development with Coffeescript and Backbone.js. I designed and implemented the REST API that registers use to communicate with the server. As the first full-time developer of the company I had the opportunity to contribute in key aspects of the development process and in the culture of the team: I established good practices like TDD, pair programming, code reviews and continuous integration in the team and raised the quality of our code making it more maintainable and flexible. I also lead the team through a transition to agile. I designed and implemented several internal libraries like a persistent queue for multithreaded background job execution in Objective-C or a SQL-based ActiveRecord versioning extension. I successfully integrated with partners and third-party APIs like Braintree, Paypal, LevelUp, TGate or Mercury. I integrated hardware with the iPad app like credit card swipers, barcode scanners or receipt printers. I also collaborated with higher management hiring engineers and shaping the team. -
