Defining and coordinating technical strategy for artificial intelligence across the company. This involves leading a team on:- Coordinating the cross-company initiative "AI at Scale" across 20+ teams in Microsoft building infrastructure (supercomputing clusters interconnecting AI accelerators through high-bandwidth networks), systems software (compiler+runtime+libraries to optimize distributed training and inferencing), platform (to schedule, manage, and monitor the execution of AI jobs maximizing capacity utilization), and models (language and multi-modality combining e.g. images and document structure) to empower disruptive AI capabilities across our products (e.g. Bing, Office, Teams, Dynamics, and LinkedIn) - Identifying and bootstrapping growth/differentiation opportunities between our product teams (e.g. Azure) and Microsoft Research (e.g. leveraging Automated Machine Learning and Reinforcement Learning)- Aligning engineering efforts across divisions through a shared vision (e.g. Microsoft Graph Connect Data Connect to make the data assets from Office and Dynamics available on Azure to the enable analytics/ML and app development)

* I lead a team defining, implementing, and evangelizing features in SQL Server and Microsoft Azure to offer the best cloud platform (reliability, performance, security, management, and cost) to host databases. I launched the offering and built it into a $300M/year business in 2 years ($1B+/year today)* I helped other cloud providers (e.g. Google and RackSpace) to offer SQL Server in their clouds* I led the high availability of Azure Data Warehouse and guided the team (an acquisition called "Parallel Data Warehouse") towards its launch as a cloud managed service* I led a team that introduced "hybrid" features (e.g. Secondary Replicas on Azure for HA/DR/Scale-out, Backup/Restore to/from Azure, Database Files in Azure) into SQL Server 2014* I led the high availability of SQL Server in SQL Server 2012, 2014, and 2016, starting with the introduction of AlwaysOn (enterprise solution for high availability and disaster recovery) bringing $1B+ annually. This involved writing functional/supportability specs, building a project plan, defining the release criteria, and leading the development/test team (60+ developers/testers) to the project completion* I helped customers around the world architect multi-million dollar mission-critical solutions (e.g. Expedia, Bank of America, BWin, GE Healthcare, StackOverflow)-> Consistently ranked top 10% performer in SQL Server team

* Worked on the design and implementation of GE Web Cash, an internal mission-critical system (+1000 users worldwide) for electronic funds transfers* Analyzed business requirements and translated them to technical specifications* Developed and tested functionality using Visual Studio .NET and SQL Server* Set up the company's source code control system (used by +100 developers)

Designed and implemented a web-based content management system for governmental entities in Mexico.
