Technology Associate
CurrentSupports and educates library patrons in the Creative Lab maker space and on public computers or mobile devices. Dedicated to increasing patron digital literacy skills and providing access to creative technology.Develops and teaches STEAM programs and workshops including: 3D Printing, Machine Learning, Generative Art, Circuits, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Express, Game Development with Unity/Unreal/GameMaker Studio, Computer Refurbishing/Repairs, Basic Computer Navigation, Cricut, and more. Maintains community partnerships and hosts partnered workshops.Develops patron resources for maker space projects, best practices, and Creative Lab Patron/Staff policies. Maintains patron 3D Print queue and develops tools for systemwide integration. Assists with front end website development for slcpl.org/creativelab. Performs maintenance and repairs for: 3D Printers, Glowforge (CNC), Desktops, Laptops, and Soldering Station. Assists with equipment repairs and troubleshooting at branches when needed. Assists with training staff on Adobe Creative Suite, 3D Printers, Glowforge, Soldering Station, and more. Purchases and maintains inventory within yearly budget. Supports Community Engagement and Connection Efforts by serving on CDI (Committee for Digital Inclusion). Leads NIA (Neighborhood Indie Arcade) workgroup to plan International Games Month and Games-related collections and programs. Serves as Librarian in Charge when scheduled.
